Excellent book!
Liane Moriarty wrote six books but this is the first one I read and I loved it. What begins as a simple argument in the public school kindergarten section degenerates quickly. Yeah, a little bit like God of Carnage, with the same satyrical and strident tone.
The author is really great at depicting characters of stay-at-home or working mums in Pirriwee Beach, a small seaside town in Australia. The characters are hilarious. You have Madeline, the mother of three, who loves nothing more than fights and champagne. You have the beautiful Celeste, married to the successful Perry, who dreams endlessy of a different life. You have Jane, the single mother, obsessed with the one night stand which fathered her son. And you have the Blond Bob mothers camp who dominate school life.
I loved the ironic style and the savory expressions. A great book if you need a laugh and if you were fan of Desperate Housewives.
